The new Harry Potter film
Anybody been in to see this yet then? I've been looking forward to it but not had a chance to get in thanks to the mass amount of snow piled up outside

Re: The new Harry Potter film
I've not seen it yet, really want to though it looks really good, I was a bit cynical at first because they split it into 2 films and I thought it was just for the money (and I still do believe that to an extent) but I do think (hope) they've made the most out of it and gave us the Harry Potter film fans deserve, the other ones have been good, but not what they could've been.

6 hour fest is fine by me
I loved DVD nights watching all 6 star wars in a row, or all 3 LotR films

Ah, I've always wanted to do that, however never had anyone willing to do it. (And those better have been the extended versions of LOTR!!)

I guess every cinema is cheap on a Wednesday?
Harry Potter isn't my cup of tea but I did go watching Machete the other week.

Movie fests kick ass. Watching LOTR without stopping is just awesome as is the Pirates films.Lavindathar wrote:6 hour fest is fine by me

Re: The new Harry Potter film
I love movie fests, did the extended LotR one earlier in the year, it's amazing how exhausting watching films for 12 hours is, my next project is much more daunting though, a 24 marathon, 8 seasons and one TV movie in 9 days, a season a day, that will be a killer but loads of fun. Also want to do a Friday the 13 one. I'll probably try and do a Harry Potter one when there all on DVD, be interesting too see how it all flows as a story, (horribly porbably)

My latest was watching all three Underworld films which was great!
I'd quite like to do one watching the three Narnia films as well

I own a few seperately, but I won't buy a boxset until I can get all 7 films in the same set.
OCD much.

Got that at Sainsbury's yesterday! Bargain! I have never seen any of the films, but I have read all of the books about 10 times. Love Harry Potter!
I'm definitely going to marry Ginny Weasley. And my shrink says I'm not emotionally stable for anyone to tell me it's not possible, so don't.
Will watch them all, then pick up the last 2 on DVD when they're out and complete the set.

Re: The new Harry Potter film
The films are good, but not a patch on the books. Always happens when the books are fantastic, the films can never live up.
Even LotR films, despite being 10/10 in every repsect and simply amazing, they just couldn't live up to the books.
And leaving out Tom Bombardil? I nearly killed Mr Jackson over that decision let me tell you!

I thought it was pretty good. The decision to split it into two films was the right one IMO! I just can't wait for part 2!

The split is too big. It needed to come out next month. That'd be ok. Next year is too far off!

Depends really... They will probably make more money this way.
A hell of a lot of people paid £6 (or whatever) to see it this time, they might not be willing to go to the cinema again so soon.
When it comes out next year, cinemas might do Part 1 + 2 together for £10 or whatever and make even more money.
ALso I think it's taking so long as they are doing part 2 in 3D. They were going to put Part 1 in 3D but ran out of time and wanted to release it.
